SPARK has received 2 generous donations of support.
Local businessman Robert Kennedy from CSI Group donated furniture and extensive shelving units for our office space here at Almondbank. His brilliant team installed everything and we have been able to put them to good use storing Spark Creations stock.
Arnold Clark donated £707 as part of their business-wide 'Change for Charity' initiative. This money will provide materials to support all our various activities and ensure that we continue to offer these for free to our members and the wider community. T
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Letham Primary School Pupils visit Spark
On Tuesday afternoon we were visited by P7s from Letham Primary School who donated boxes of jigsaws for Spark members of the community.
They included their Community Champions and Reading Ambassadors.
They didn't leave empty-handed! They returned to school with boxes of biscuits donated by Patersons' Biscuits for staff and pupils to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming them back for our Storytelling Festival activities in June.
We raised £900!!!
Yes! I was persuaded to become Peter Rabbit for one day only! And what a ball was had by everyone. Myself and Mr Easter Bunny entertained the children (and the young at heart!) and handed out dozens of chocolate eggs!
I might be getting soft in my old age, but it was joyous to see so many families, friends and partners celebrating the arrival of Spring here at SPARK.
We raised over £900 on the day. This money will be used to directly impact the community we serve and change lives. All our in-house groups are now FREE TO ATTEND. We made this decision to offer our families and members some small help as the cost of living crisis begins to bite for everyone.
Everyone is welcome here at SPARK so money should not be a barrier for anyone. Warmest, Jane
We are proud of you Russell
Back in autumn 2021, Russell, a Financial Adviser alongside John Scott Davidson and St James's Place, set himself the challenge of running the Kinloch Rannoch 10K in under 50 minutes.
The course, in the Cairngorms National Park, was quite flat but Russell set out to lose some weight to help make his task easier. Sadly due to tightening covid restrictions, the run was cancelled however he ran the route single-handed to honour his commitment to Spark and his sponsors. He completed the run in 47:45 minutes and raised a brilliant £600 for Spark.
Well Done Alyx
A massive thank you and congratulations to Alyx Hanratty who walked 26 miles and raised fantastic £1817 for CGNN
